Mathematical Models

The Centre for Nutrition Modelling (CNM) is dedicated to advancing animal nutrition through the development of biomathematical models. These models offer a comprehensive quantitative understanding of the scientific and management aspects of animal agriculture. Covering a wide range of species including dairy and beef cattle, swine, poultry, fish, equine, and pets, our collaborative approach integrates research findings to improve production techniques. CNM makes recent research easily accessible, fostering the adoption of innovative methods and enhancing overall system performance through a unified view of complex biological interactions.

PDI Modelling

Pelleted feeds are crucial in monogastric animal production, enhancing performance and ease of handling. However, pellet quality is influenced by numerous factors throughout the manufacturing process. Our recent study employs machine learning regression models to predict pellet quality using comprehensive data from commercial feed mills. By analyzing 2,471 observations with 16 features, we identified significant factors impacting the Pellet Durability Index (PDI). Discover how our advanced models can improve feed quality predictions and explore our Application Interfaces to see these models in action.
